Introducing heatmap polls for an easier way to handle group meeting times

TallyCal launched last year with traditional yes/no polling for finding the best time to schedule a group event. The traditional poll feature is an effective service that lets you specify a set of times for meetings and then enables people to say whether they can or cannot attend (or can attend, if necessary) at any particular time. When everyone has voted, you can scan the results to determine which got the most votes and is thus the best time to meet. However, many users wanted the flexiblity to allow participants to show all available times that they're available within a day, rather than being limited to specific timeslots defined by the poll host.

The heatmap polls were built to be simple just like the traditional polls. Additionally, they have a clean and modern user interface. What’s most important about this process is that it lets the group identify the best possible times without the host having to guess at them ahead of time. Ultimately, this new feature should continue to help make it quicker and easier to meet with groups.

How does it work?

You can create a poll the same way as a traditional poll. However, in the setup you simply select the heatmap type.

Instead of choosing specific times, you simply choose overall time ranges. Just select the start time and end time of each day that users should select for availability.

And last, choose which dates you want as options for the event.

Once you share the poll link, particpants then click and drag all the timeslots that they are available. After submitting their availability. it gets aggregaed with the larger group on a heatmap chart.

Participants and the poll organizer can view everyone's availability. This allows the group to decide on a convenient time for all. Other traditional poll features such as meeting descriptions, mobile optimization, video conference links, timezone selection, charts with results, no login required, are also provided with heatmap polls.

TallyCal Heatmap Polls are a fantastic new tool for choosing meeting or event times and work well for professors, students, recruiters, and coordinating social events. Additionally, it's free and without ads!

Since we just launched this feature a week ago, there may still be bugs or performance issues. Send us a message if you find anything!
